Thermal Design Solutions (TDS) is an engineering company specialising in applied thermal engineering for the automotive, transportation, and energy sectors—particularly waste heat recovery. We provide engineering and manufacturing services, R&D, consulting, and training to industrial clients.

Our activities include:

• Heat exchanger development (design, simulation, durability, and manufacturing process definition)
• Licensing of HEXsim®, our heat exchanger simulation software
• Design and sizing of thermodynamic systems (heat pumps, ORC, Carnot batteries, etc.)
• R&D projects for internal development and customer needs

As a junior engineer, you will contribute to engineering projects and the development of our simulation capabilities. Your main responsibilities will include:

• Simulating and sizing heat exchangers using HEXsim®
• Contributing to the development and maintenance of HEXsim®
• Supporting customers using HEXsim® (technical follow-up and assistance)
• Running CFD studies on heat exchangers and thermal/fluid components
• Simulating and sizing thermodynamic systems (heat pumps, ORC, Carnot batteries, etc.) using OpenModelica
• Performing studies and techno-economic optimisation of waste heat recovery systems (Python tools available)

• Master’s degree or engineering degree in Thermal Engineering or Energy Engineering

• Experience with CFD tools (ANSYS Fluent or OpenFOAM)
• Experience with CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA, or equivalent)
• Strong programming skills (at least one of: Python, C++, C#, VBA, etc.)
• Comfortable with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• French and English required: one at C level, the other at least B level
• German or Luxembourgish is a plus
